DanceAbility 25-hour Intensive is for everyone, especially for people who want to teach integrated groups in dance, improvisation, and movement arts, or learn a model for facilitating communities that fosters inclusive participation. The course covers well-defined methods and techniques for teaching improvisation, however there is no stagnant set of rules. It is an approach to designing movement practices that allow anybody’s and everybody’s movement to emerge, thereby facilitating individual and group expression. This course will prepare participants to use the  DanceAbility method with any population of people in any combination of people.

An extensive DanceAbility Manual is provided with over 40  exercises studied during the Course and detailed descriptions of each exercise.

Alito Alessi

Alito Alessi is the Artistic Director of DanceAbility® International and co-founder of DanceAbility®. Alessi has been involved with the evolution of contemporary dance for the past 30 years, and is internationally known as a pioneering teacher, choreographer, andmentor. Although his work spans the field of dance, he specializes in working with diverse populations, utilizing tools from the study of improvisation and contact improvisation, the latter of which he was present during its development.

In this workshop, situations may arise that could be emotionally or physically challenging for you. We are of course delighted to receive your booking, but it is even more important to us that you consider whether you currently have sufficient capacity for experiential spaces without therapeutic support and where your boundaries are (which are welcome to express in the workshop).

Cancellation

Cancellations may not be pretty, but they happen because life moves. Unfortunately, we cannot bear the risk of failures alone. If you withdraw from the registration, you will receive from the seminar fee:

Up to 6 weeks before you’ll get 80% back, up to 2 weeks before you’ll get 50% back. Thereafter, the full participation fee will be due.

It is possible to appoint a replacement person.

If the workshop has to be cancelled by the instructor or motionlab.cologne, you will be rebooked for a workshop of your choice in the three following months free of charge.

Der 25-stündige Intensivkurs „DanceAbility“ richtet sich an alle, insbesondere an Personen, die integrierte Gruppen in Tanz, Improvisation und Bewegungskunst unterrichten oder ein Modell für die Förderung von Gemeinschaften erlernen möchten, das eine inklusive Teilnahme fördert. Der Kurs behandelt klar definierte Methoden und Techniken für den Improvisationsunterricht, jedoch gibt es keine festen Regeln. Es handelt sich um einen Ansatz zur Gestaltung von Bewegungsübungen, die es jedem Einzelnen und allen gemeinsam ermöglichen, sich zu bewegen und so den Ausdruck des Einzelnen und der Gruppe zu fördern. Dieser Kurs bereitet die Teilnehmer darauf vor, die DanceAbility-Methode mit jeder beliebigen Personengruppe in jeder beliebigen Zusammensetzung anzuwenden.

Alito Alessi ist künstlerischer Leiter von DanceAbility® International und Mitbegründer von DanceAbility®. Alessi ist seit 30 Jahren an der Entwicklung des zeitgenössischen Tanzes beteiligt und international als wegweisender Lehrer, Choreograf und Mentor bekannt. Obwohl seine Arbeit das gesamte Spektrum des Tanzes umfasst, hat er sich auf die Arbeit mit unterschiedlichen Bevölkerungsgruppen spezialisiert und nutzt dabei Methoden aus dem Bereich der Improvisation und der Kontaktimprovisation, deren Entwicklung er miterlebt hat.

Selbstverantwortung

In diesem Workshop kann es auch zu Situationen kommen, die für dich körperlich oder emotional herausfordernd sein können. Wir freuen uns natürlich über eine Buchung, aber noch wichtiger ist uns, dass du für dich prüfst, ob du im Moment genug Kapazitäten für Erfahrungsräume ohne therapeutische Begleitung hast und wo deine Grenzen sind, die du gerne auch im Workshop ausdrücken kannst.

Stornierung

Stornierungen sind zwar nicht schön, passieren aber einfach, weil das Leben sich bewegt. Leider können wir das Risiko durch Ausfälle nicht alleine tragen. Solltest Du von der Anmeldung zurücktreten, bekommst Du vom Seminarbeitrag:

Bis 6 Wochen vorher bekommst du 80% zurück, bis 2 Wochen vorher bekommst du 50% zurück. Danach wird die volle Teilnahmegebühr fällig.

Das Stellen einer Ersatzperson ist möglich.

Sollte der Workshop durch den Dozenten oder motionlab.cologne abgesagt werden müssen, erfolgt eine kostenlose Umbuchung auf einen Workshop deiner Wahl in den drei Folgemonaten.
